Provided by YP.comUNLESS YOU WANT TO BUY A NEW ENGINE...DON' T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last week my boyfriend took his car into Lakewood Lube and Repair for a very simple oil change on his Toyota 4Runner. $40.00 for an oil change is ridiculous in the first place but he was crunched on time (and the wait next door at Midas was over an hour)...but he left this place and NOT EVEN 5 minutes down the road his car died and was smoking. These IDIOTS put the oil filter on crooked and by the time he got home there wasn't a drop of oil in it. Needless to say it ruined most of his engine. These guys towed it back to their shop, looked at it and REFUSED to fix it or pay for any of the damages and expected him to pay almost $2000.00 in repairs for something THEY should have done right in the first place. He ended up taking it somewhere else and was quoted HALF the price. My boyfriend DRIVES for a living and this car ran 200-300 miles PER DAY prior to taking his car to this so called "repair" shop. The staff was rude to him and me and I am making sure that no one I know ever goes here!!!!!
This customer's oil filter was not put on crooked. I personally went to the customer's residence and the oil filter was on correctly and tight and the drain plug was in and tight, and the engine still had oil up to the full mark on the dipstick. There were no puddles or drips of oil under the vehicle. We did not tow it back to the shop, the customer drove it back to the shop. The staff was never rude to these folks and did everything possible to help and assist them. I was personally involved in all aspects of this transaction. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to have automatic transmission fluid mixing with antifreeze in the radiator and the transmission was overheating and causing severe problems. There is no way that our staff could have caused internal radiator damage to produce this problem. This customer was exceptionally antagonistic and belligerent and would not listen to anyone. They may have had good reason to be upset, but this company was not the cause of their problems. They were never heard from again and they pursued no action against us for any reason. I think that their "cheap" mechanic may have shown them that we could not have been the cause of the problem.
