Sometimes I stop at a new thrift store and I am leary about what I will find. They aren't always as nice as department stores and while that's what gives them character, it isn't always pleasant. I was at Deerfield Thrift yesterday for the 1st time and was impressed. The manager had a no-nonsense way of dealing with an uncooperative customer that was awesome. He was also so funny without being comedic and I felt secure there. The store was clean but not sterile like some of the new "boutique" style thrifts. I will definately be back!

What an interesting thrift store, the kind I remember. These new "boutique" stores just don't do it for me. This store has a boutique section with clothes for $3-$5 on all tops and bottoms! The regular tops are only $2 and just as nice as any I see elsewhere for $5+. Not just clothes either. Their window display is their antiques and collectibles area and those prices start as low as $5 too!!! Nice, friendly folks. Usual items and a real nice book room, hundreds of movies, furniture and some really high end things. You should see the beautiful wedding dress in the window with a tag still on it - designer label! I sure don't need it but I will definately be back!
