I Love Little Creek, I have been rding there since 05 and am sad to say I will not be a full time rider there anymore. The horses and trainers are great and I owe everything to them, they have taught me so much about not only horses but how to be a better person and annyone who does not like it is crazy.

DO NOT USE. DANGEROUS. Also, incompetent.

I went to this place for my first horseback riding lesson a while back. The saddle was very loose on the horse they had me ride. Even I, a novice, thought that was a bad idea, but the instructor refused to tighten it or let me tighten it, so the whole time I was trying to ride, I was sliding from side to side. I looked it up when I got home and as I thought, the saddle is supposed to be snug enough to stay in one place!

Then when I mounted, the stirrups were almost a foot below my feet. I was pretty sure that my feet were supposed to go into the stirrups, but the instructor refused to adjust them either. I looked that up too later and it's another no-no.

Then she refused to give me any instruction to speak of, even though she knew perfectly well that it was my first time on a horse. Basically, I was supposed to figure it out by myself while sliding from side to side on the horse's back.

DO NOT go to this place. You'll probably end up with a broken neck.

Eventually, the horse got mad because I didn't know what I was doing and because the saddle kept sliding around, and it stopped responding at all to my attempts to lead it, and started shaking as if trying to shake me off. I got really scared and asked for help. The instructor completely ignored me while I yelled and pleaded for help for over five minutes, at which point I finally managed to dismount on my own. (It was very difficult because my feet, as you'll recall, were not in the stirrups.)

Great for horse and nature lovers

Litte Creek Farm, also known as Little Creek Riding Stable is a great place for beginners! The instructor that I know is very kind, and very easy going! The barn is kind of in a cobweb condition, but with more riders joining every week or so, they will make progress. The horses are all very nice and kind and Little Creek is excellent on boarding horses, although the expenses every month are around $700 dollars or so, I think it's a great place! You have two choices if I understand the place differences in riding and the instructors. They teach Dressage and Hunter/Jumping; Little Creek does not compete in competitions but you are welcome to join a horse club and compete there with your horse. My particular instructor charges $35.00 a session but I'm not sure if that goes with the other two instructors. You are required to wear a helmet when riding however, for safety reasons, and for some that may be no different than previous stables and it might be new to some of you. If you are new to riding and you want to have the proper equipment for riding, some great websites to check out are: www.doversaddlery.com, www.horsetown.com, and www.kerrits.com are great for getting breeches. Horsetown has stores in Georgia, two in Marietta, one in Locust Grove and one in Snellville. Hope this helps with finding riding stables near Atlanta!
