This is my second time going to Affinity salon. Yesterday I had my hair colored and cut by the same stylist.
Color is fine. I'm not happy with the cut. I showed the stylist pictures of different cuts I liked.
After spending quite a bit of money with a generous tip included, when I got home I restyled my hair! My hair is fine and needed volumizing products and hair spray. The stylist did neither. She did blow dry, but styling was not done other than running her fingers through my hair. I'm very disappointed and will not go back or recommend Affinity Salon.

I have been going to Affinity ...

I have been going to Affinity for over a year now and get my hair styled and cut. Craig is extremely talented and I literally crave going back within a few weeks. The thing I love is that even though you are guaranteed to get a great haircut and style... it is a great atmosphere as well. They go the extra mile with everything. I feel like I am talking to a friend and that is what he has become. Try them, I promise you won’t regret it

Attended a spa party at Affinity & it was less than acceptable for the price we paid! 30 min services actually lasted 20 minutes and all of our pedis were HORRIBLE! Kristyn soaked our feet for about 2 min, removed old polish, cut toenails & polished! That was not the service we were told we would receive by the owner, which was the standard pedi: soak feet, remove polish, cut nails, file nails, buff nails, push back cuticles, massage feet and polish nails! She was also very unfriendly. She didn't even clean the pedi bowl out for each client! Very unsanitary. Owner wouldn't refund pedi $ and basically called us liars!?!?!? REALLY????? Horrible Customer Service!!!!!!!

I tried that salon out on a re...

I tried that salon out on a recommendation from a friend. I read reviews and was really hoping for a great experience. When I went in, I asked for a trim. I just wanted my dead ends cut off and I knew that might call for an inch or 2. I told the person doing my hair that I wore my hair both straight and curly. With this information he cut my hair with a "curly cut." When I left my hair looked horrible. There were very blunt layers and they were very short. I went home to see if the cut was even workable. I had to come back in later in the day so the owner could see what could be done. The owner then worked on my hair and told me it was the best it could be for the day. My hair had choppy, unblended layers which resembled something from the 70's. The owner was very sympathetic and understood how upset I was but the results were not much better from the first cut. With my visits to Affinity I lost about 5 inches of hair with a trim and I had to go to another salon so my hair could be better blended and looks like a passable hair cut. Needless to say I will not be back.

What you're told the cost will be and when you're checking out are two different prices. $25 dollars more than what i was told it would be at the beginning of the service. I didn't have anything more added on so how did it change? $65 to $90???

Hair stylists are Not Artists

The same thing happens wherever you go. You pay the advertised rate, but what you get depends on the stylist.

Affinity is a high priced salon offering an array of beauty treatments for a hefty price. Their products tout the all-natural qualities that are all the rage at the moment, complete with the trendy decor one expects from premium priced businesses. But the trend is actually in the stylist herself. It was early on a Saturday morninig and I was so happy to get a stylist that wasn't too talkative that I forgot to be specific with my requirements. My hair is thick--so thick that she had to go back 3 times to refill the highlighting creme. She finally finished the hilights and moved on to the haircut.

I'm sure I was cutting into her next appt, since thick hair takes a lot more time. I told her I liked my style and only wanted a short amount cut off. She turned me around so I couldn't see the mirror. I should have halted her right there.

Instead she proceeded to CHOP my hair off into shelves (too drastic to be called layers) leaving 3-4 inch lengths of hair falling to the floor. Of course, I didn't know. When she finished I was so late for another appt that I had to literally run to the car. It wasn't until I got home that evening that I noticed the shelves. She had 'thinned' my hair to such a degree that it now resembles a grass hut. The first shelf stops around my chin. The other one is the true length of my hair (a good 2 inches shorter than when I entered the salon). I DETEST this haircut. The only way to fix it is to cut the length up to the first layer, I'm 40 years old. It will take a decade to regrow that length. I'm so livid I can barely speak. I should have known. The younger the stylist, the more she thinks she knows what's right for every client, regardless of their request. There's no point going back. The damage is done. I cannot put it back.

My advice to any stylist reading this: stop ASSuming you know what will look good. Just because you think something is attractive does not mean she will. You are not an artist. You are the person who has the power to wreck someone's self-esteem. Don't ever make semi-permanent changes to someone's hair without asking, Kristen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best Salon Experience Ever!

I have very thin, fine hair and have a very hard time finding a stylist who really knows what he is doing enough to cut my hair in a style that is truly complimentary for me. However, I took a referral from a dear friend and tried Craig at Affinity Salon and Day Spa and am so thrilled that I took the chance! Craig took so much time with me and actually gave me advice that was different than what I have heard for the last 39 years of my life...I am a client that is thrilled and my hair is looking the best it ever has and I have probably visited 30 salons over my lifetime....so I really could compare!
