I have read through many negative comments about Ridgewood manor. I worked there for 17 years most of which was as wound manager. Ethica is all about patient care and education, customer service so I know first hand these accusations of abuse , hateful staff, etc are wrong . The nurses and CNAs work hard to care for each and every patient like family. The nurse managers work long hours as well. Ethica along with Hamilton medical center are very good to each and every patient! I loved my job I only wish I could have stayed however the arthritis in my back made that impossible to be on call as part of management as a CNA after 25 years as a nurse it takes a toll on your back . My only complaint is that the company would not work with me so I could keep my job ! In that respect yes Ridgewood does not respect employees I had wound management under my belt for approx 13 years keep there nursing home wounds and patients free from wounds or healed quickly with knowledgement and traing learned in those 13 years of wound management. So yes I was upset about the job but, that in no way takes away from all the other hard workin nurses, CNAs, housekeeping, Laundry, maintiance, dietary, therapy, and office personal that keeps this building going daily. No one at Ridgewood would intentionally neglect or hurt any patient if I needed to be placed in long term care there is no where better! Just if you work there make sure you stay young becouse if not they don't know ( exact words) what they can do to change the way things have always been done even though they think your a valuable employee, but offer to take you off call long enough for you to train some one to do the job you love as your replacement. I did make a big huge mistake I was so hurt I quit without notice after seventeen years of service .
