I took my young daughter and to help her with her irrational fear of death. after the 4th visit the therapist told me she did not know how to help her and she did not know where this fear was coming from. So she decided to try a different therapy on her and she wanted to demonstrate it on me first. She had me stand with my arms outstretched holding a can of Coke in my left hand and asked me to resist her pushing down on my right arm. She was able to push my right arm down and told me it was because Coke was bad for me and made me weak. She then repeated this procedure having me hold a bag of granola and dried fruit. She was not able to push my arm down she claimed because these Foods were good for me and they made my body strong. I didn't know what to think. My daughter looked at her and told her that this was stupid or something to that effect. Ms Payne then stood up over my daughter all redfaced and yelled at her for not giving the therapy a chance. I was in total shock and my daughter just shrank in her seat. We never went back. I still to this day don't know why how holding foods and pushing your arm down has anything to do with addressing her issues.
