I've tolerated the fact that the club is not as clean as it used to be when it was Bally's and the machines and TVs are regularly not functioning properly. However, it is ridiculous that the air conditioning has not been functioning for going on 3 weeks now. What is the point of working out at a gym when it feels cooler outside at 85 degrees? Someone is going to pass out. I'm changing gyms.

There have been ellipticals and treadmills that have been broken since October. Also when I take yoga classes there are dust bunnies the club is filthy. I have emailed them several times. They respond with that they will contact the regional manager. Nothing seems to help as more machines break every week. I cannot wait until my membership expires so I can go somewhere else!

I was a member of Bally's Fitn...

I was a member of Bally's Fitness since 1988. When I spoke to the asst. manger at the club, he stated I would renew under the same price and terms as I had previously w/ Bally's. Unforunately, when I received my renewal it was higher than if someone just walked in off the street and paid for a membership and much higher than I have ever paid! When I addressed it at the club, again the manager stated that if I could produce proof of what I paid for the previous year, he would match it. I contacted Bally's coporate office and after jumping through a few hoops, they pdf'd me a generated Bally's receipt for the last 22 years. But when I returned to the club the manager stated he could not honor the official statement and offered no alternative to keep my business. I guess they don't want my membership anymore. The funny thing is, my friend renewed his membership at a discounted rate I and I can workout at the club everyday FREE as his guest. He has unlimited guest privileges. Guess they should have taken my money!!! Oh, by the way. Club started out cleaner than as a Bally's for the first 3 months but it seems to be sliding on cleanliness. Less crowded than it used to be but with their renewal policies, I don't wonder why....

So disappointed. I have been ...

So disappointed. I have been defending blast with the hopes that the new management would be better.

I have been a member of this club (formally bally's) since 1993. I would try other gloves I always came back here. The place is slightly cleaner, but not really.

I don't know where to start. There has been 3 or 4 managers at the cudahy location since I started. No tanning still, took out the small retail shop, which was nice when in a hurry for a pre or post workout drink, still not 24 hours, many pieces of equipment down for weeks. The other day I counted 8 cardio machines with out of order signs. The soap dispensers have ben replaced with cheaper ones that are usually empty and seldom work. When they are full and dont work, people take the lids off the soap and dip their hands in it. Gross and unsanitary. Health dept should be called.

The end of last week they got rid of many of the dumbells... everything over 75 lbs. I can't believe it. It is supposed to be less intimidating... how many people go, I was gonna signed up, but they have 100 lb dumbells upstairs. Really. Well people don't need them, most don't do the exercises right, and they drop weights. I am all for enforcing the rules so people take better care of the equipment and don't hurt themselves, but don't take it away from those who know what they are doing and treat the facility with respect.

This place is much cleaner sin...

This place is much cleaner since Blast took it over from Bally's. However, the old employees were much more professional and friendlier. The new ones are too young, immature and disrespectful. The cost of it being cleaner is that the employees are constantly and it seems at all times hanging around in the locker rooms just watching the naked men. The worst thing is that when they're at the front counter they're talking about the members and making fun of us. I would gladly trade the old Bally's for the new Blast. I preferred it better before. It feels that you're constantly being watched and judged by these kids, it's very uncomfortable. As soon as my membership period expires, I plan to find another club. I want to work out in a place where I'm free to do so where the employees don't get in the way and don't cause any unnecessary burden.
