Canterbury Elementary School, opened in 1971, is one of the several elementary schools in Crystal Lake School District 47. It serves students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school organizes various honors assemblies to recognize student accomplishments in the areas of academics, citizenship and attendance. It also organizes art shows and book fairs. Canterbury Elementary School offers special education, extended curriculum and bilingual programs. The school also supports guidance counseling programs. Its core curriculum includes various general subjects, such as math, science, speech and language, social studies, reading, art and physical education.
