We are behind one of the semi's and he is driving very unsafe. Passing people in a no pass zone and slamming on brakes right in front of cars.

They started out pretty good. Not really enough miles because of all the short runs, but a pretty good rate on the loads coming out of the Omaha area. Really cheap on the backhauls, and we found out after leasing on that you have no choice on whether or not to take the backhauls they find through brokers. Some are as cheap as 1.05/mile, but their reasoning is that they have to get you back to Omaha to service their customers in the Omaha area. After a couple of months now, it seems things have taken a downturn. I don't know if they're putting the higher paying loads on their company trucks or what, but I haven't seen a load that paid 1.75 or more in a while. They pay according to Rand McNally miles, which cheats you about 10% on mileage, and they pay nothing for deadhead miles. Most of the time, the deadhead is fairly short, probably averaging around 10%, which is not too bad. It seems to me that I get unloaded, then go reload, then drive all night to get to my next delivery, maybe sleep 2-3 hours, then do it again, all for a 300-400 mile load. Some weeks I actually do get 3000 miles or more, but at a cheap rate. I probably will quit within the next two weeks. I really wish there was an honest company that paid really well all the time with no lies just to get you to lease on. My fuel costs last month were 70 cents/mile for ALL miles ran, 90 cents/mile for the actual paid miles, 10 cents for my USED truck payment, 10 cents/mile for maintenance, and the other truck I own with a driver in it- I pay 35 cents/mile. You can see it's really hard to make it averaging 1.20-1.25 /mile for loaded miles or even all miles. I also don't like that they take 23% of the drop pay and they have one dispatcher that is particularly hard for anyone to get along with. Incidently, he is the one who finds backhauls for us.
