2/21/08: If you're a single lady, beware of this one. Dean Mausey installed siding on my brother's house, my uncle's house, and my Dad's house and garage. When I needed windows installed on a rent house, I called Dean because he had done such a nice job on all the other houses. He did not have me sign a contract. When he completed the job, he wanted $1500 for the cost of two sets of shutters plus labor only for installing 4 windows. He called to tell me the price when he finished, but refused to send me an invoice.



He's now suing me for $2000 and I have yet to receive the first invoice. I offered to pay him more than other contractors had quoted - $500 plus the cost of the shutters. He refused and insists on taking it to court.



He does excellent work, but if you choose to use him, make sure you CYA. Get a quote in writing before he starts work and check on him frequently. I was out of town when he began the job, so I was not there to keep watch and he took all the spare materials left over after the job was finished - materials I purchased.



I have been told by many people that he has a reputation of being very chauvinistic and taking advantage of single women. Beware of this one!
