I have always believed that the best way to know really good managers in not by seeing them excelling, but when they fail and try to recover.



My wife and I were on our way to a school function and had some time to spare. We decided to eat at P.F. Chang's. We sat and ordered but there was a problem with our order and we never got any food. We waited patiently, but when we had to leave we told the waitress that we just needed to leave. Things like this happen in every restaurant sometimes and, though upset, I could understand. However, that's when the manager stepped in "to help".



He said that we did not owe anything for that day (OK) and that he would pay for our next meal there (I thought, wow good save). But then he gave us gift certificates for $20. I was floored: just my entree (that I did not get to eat) that night was over that price. We would have had dessert and drinks, had we ever had the desire to go back to PF Chang's.



This place and its lousy manager are now a inside joke for me and my wife whenever we want o eat out: "Yeah, let's got to P.F. Chang's". They may be good when everything works, but do not expect them to recover when they fail.

Excellent service. We ate and had the lettuce wraps as an appetizer that were delivwered to the table prmptly before the meal. Highly recommend!
