- Private Evaluations: The Achievement Advantage Assessment & Services team conducts comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations of intellectual ability, learning patterns, achievement, motivation, behavior, or personality factors directly related to learning problems. Depending on the child's needs, a psychoeducational evaluation may include: Interview with the parent and child; cognitive ability testing; Academic Achievement Testing; and Social/Emotional Testing. Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs): Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) are evaluations conducted by a qualified examiner who is not employed by the school district responsible for the education of your child. If you disagree with the outcome of the evaluation that your school district has already completed and have gone through the process to request an IEE, Achievement Advantage Assessment & Services may be able to complete it for you. Recommendations for Educational Programming: Achievement Advantage Assessment & Services provides recommendations that can be used in your child's educational planning. This may include strategies for your child's teacher, private tutor, or family members to use at home. Such recommendations will be reflective of your child's needs and may include accommodations and/or direct instruction strategies. Educational Advocacy: Having worked as school psychologists in the public schools, we at Achievement Advantage Assessment & Services understand that special education can be a complicated process for parents. We are available to attend meetings with you and your child's team to help guide you through the process and act as a liaison between you and school staff. Evidence-Based Instruction The Wilson Reading System is a systematic, research-based reading program for students in 2nd grade and above. The Wilson Reading System is endorsed by the Council of Administrators of Special Education and the Wilson Language Training has been accredited by the International Dyslexia Association. Additionally, the Ohio Department of Education has approved the Wilson Reading System for the Third Grade Reading Guarantee.
