Highly Recommend

First time to have my dog Bella treated at this facility, and was extremely impressed. All of the staff that we encountered were very courteous, professional, and compassionate. Visit lasted about an hour and a half. This was not due to them being slow or lackadaisical, but the fact that they were so thorough and attentive. Doctor Giangreco's exam was so detail oriented that he spent some time walking around outside with us so that he could observe her gait. Have 3 dogs, and Royal Oaks is definitely our new "Go To" spot for their care.

Concerned More with Money than Pet's Healthcare

I no longer use the services at Royal Oaks Vet Hospital as they provided me with false information with regards to the promotional offer when I opened up my Care Credit account to pay for my dog's surgery. I was initially informed by Diana, who works at the front desk of Royal Oaks, that my promotional offer would be 0% interest if the loan was paid in full within 60 months. It turned out that the promotional offer was only good for 6 months, which meant that I had to pay a much higher amount each month to avoid interest, which was not in my budget to do so at the time and why I decided to use the 60-month interest free promotional offer with Care Credit in the first place. The difference in the promotional offer period was only disclosed to me when I received my first statement from Care Credit.

As a result, I contacted Care Credit asking them to honor to 60-month interest free promotion which was told to me by Diana and which I duly noted on the receipt Diana gave me to sign. However, Care Credit refused to help me because they said the promotional offers are assigned by the vet hospital and not by Care Credit themselves, which meant that I had to deal directly with Dr. Dwyer to rectify this matter.

In my conversation with Dr. Dwyer, she refused to honor the 60-month interest free promotional offer which was told to me by Diana, one of her staff members. Dr. Dwyer insisted that the issue was Care Credit's matter to resolve when Care Credit advised me numerous times that it was not and only the vet hospital can assign such offers.

Dr. Dwyer then turned it around and acted like she was the victim in this case because of the money she has to provide to Care Credit for offering their financial services at her vet hospital as she has to pay Care Credit a flat amount for each account that is opened by one of her customers, as well as a certain amount for each promotion that is offered.

Frankly, Dr. Dwyer's fiduciary responsibility to Care Credit for the financial services they provide to her clients has no relevance in the matter as that is the cost of her doing business which she must be responsible for absorbing. Dr. Dwyer failed to recognize that it was me, the customer, who was ultimately stuck with the bill and now needed to find a means to pay well over $3,000.00 in medical costs for my dog in 6 months or less to avoid having to pay astronomically high interest rates.

I was very disappointed with the way Dr. Dwyer failed to take responsibility for a mistake which was made by one of her staff members and then she acted like the victim in the situation complaining about how much money she had to give out to Care Credit. She had complete apathy towards me as one of her customers as she was not willing to work on a compromise to ameliorate the situation by helping me to find another payment plan which would be reasonably feasible for me. To add insult to injury, I received a condescending letter from the office manager, Yahaira, which basically stated that they were absolved of any responsibility for what had happened despite the fact they it was one of Dr. Dwyer's staff members, Diana, who misinformed me of the length of time the promotion would be valid.

Overall, the lack of concern to work with me on another payment plan whereby I could pay Dr. Dwyer directly, or something else which was more reasonable than having to pay the full balance within 6 months and not taking responsibility for misinformation which was given to me by one of her staff members showed how little Dr. Dwyer cares about her customers. It just seemed like Dr. Dwyer cared more about the money than trying to do the right thing for a mistake which her staff member created in the first place. Needless to say, I lost all trust and faith in them to care for my pets.

Wonderful doctor

I have taken all of my pets to Dr. Dwyer since she came to the Orlando area. I wouldn't trust my furry friends to anyone else. My little tabby was misdiagnosed with a bladder tumor after an ultrasound and euthanasia was recommended by the radiologist. Dr. Dwyer said she didn't feel comfortable with that and wanted to wait and keep her on IV fluids to eliminate the possibility of a urinary stone. She was absolutely right, and my kitty made a complete recovery. That was eight years ago. My little tabby is now twenty years old and enjoying life. She is alive today thanks to Dr. Dwyer going the extra mile for her.

vet

VERY expensive vet! If you aren't rich, go somewhere else, fast! Every visit takes an hour and a half and you're charged alot!

THE MOST EXPENSIVE VET EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD IN 50 YEARS !

We found that a $400 - $500 bill for a pretty routine visit was not unusual. If you call for appointment for anytime that week, they call it "emergency visit" or "unscheduled exam" and charge $65 to simply schedule your appointment that week - and you'll sit until all other appointments have been seen ! I felt as though I was seeking healthcare for an uninsured human family member - prices are that high !!! Absolutely unheard of in my 50 years of being an attentive, responsible pet owner. A family member has had the same expensive experiences and have found more reasonable care elsewhere. We love our pets but can't pay vet bills that amount to nearly our mortgage payment!

FULL CIRCLE & 2ND CHANCES!

I moved to Orlando in 99’ and needed to find a good Vet for my 12 y/o Black Lab. I tried a couple vets before I found Dr. Dwyer. Immediately, I noticed a connection between my Lab and Dr. Dwyer that I had never experienced with any Vet previously. It was like she was Dr. Doolittle! The care Dr. Dwyer gave by boy was nothing less than spectacular. When she moved on to Royal Oaks I followed her regardless of the geographical challenge. My Lab is gone now but, I have 2 wonderful Beagles and Dr. Dwyer has been their doctor all their lives except for 3 years when I was relocated even further away so, I started using another Vet…then, another Vet and so on. My Beagles didn’t seem to be acting right and the local test results were inconclusive and concerning. The tests were run 2 separate times and indicated one of my Beagles was suffering some kind of possible liver & kidney issue and put her on some expensive medications. After seeing both test results I didn’t get a warm-fuzzy… then I realized, this is ridiculous! I decided to fax the results to Dr. Dwyer. She took the time to call me and ask me pointed and direct questions. I took both my Beagles to see Dr. Dwyer and low and behold! Dr. Dwyer struck again! She did run tests to confirm her suspicions and she was absolutely dead-on. She treated both my Beagles and they are healthy, happy and full of life and Dr. Dwyer gave that back to them. There isn’t anyone better than Dr. Dwyer when it comes to my 4-legged family members. I don’t know how but, Dr. Dwyer has a way of connecting to animals that is a God Send. Dr. Dwyer is an A+ quality Veterinarian and you just don’t get any better. So, for those of you that write negative reviews I say this to you…“Less Expensive” pet care may be available. Remember, there are a few B, C and even D Vets out there that may be less expensive and I hope they treat and care for your pets like Dr. Dwyer and her Staff. I suspect you will find this out the hard way and come full circle back to Royal Oaks, Dr. Dwyer and her staff.

Don't go to this vet office!!!!!

Took my dog in for a normal yearly exam and was charged outrageous amount of money with unnecessary tests.I called to talk to someone and was treated disrespectfully .No help what so ever! I have priced others in clermont and they don't charge nearly that much also there boarding rates are one of the highest as well. Its sad when businesses don't care about loosening YOUR business. Especially in these tough economic times.I don't recommend this place at all ,I have moved to another in Minneola .

Not worth it anymore.

After having been a long time client, I have had enough. Too many unecessary tests that I am not allowed to opt out of. It is not uncommon to face a $500+ bill for a routine canine visit. Yikes. I love my pets, but I just can't afford this anymore, especially when there are more cost effective alternatives - ones that let the pet owner decide what is necessary and what is not.

Great Veterinary Care-Royal Oaks Veterinary Hospital

Royal Oaks Veterinary Clinic is the place to go for the highest quality of care for your pets. Dr. Dwyer and her team always give my cats the care and kindness they would give their own pets. My 14 year old cat, Belle, was on her deathbed, but Dr. Dwyer worked a miracle and has given Belle a second chance on life. Most would have assumed it was just Belle's time to go to heaven, but Dr. Dwyer never gave up on her. Thanks to Dr. Dwyer's gifted skills, determination, and intuition, years have been turned back on Belle's life. Dr. Dwyer and her team went above and beyond the call of duty, and because of that my Belle is laying here purring as I write this. Words cannot express the appreciation I have for everything they've done and for the care they provide for my cats. The staff understands our pets are much more than just animals, they are our family members, and they treat them accordingly. The office is immaculate and has a warm feeling. The entire staff are professional, fri

Dr. Dwyer - BEST VET AROUND!!

We have 5 beagles and one tabby cat and have been going to Dr. Dwyer since 1999. Recently our oldest beagle (13) fell ill. Due to timing, we rushed her down the street to another local vet, who did an ultrasound and immediately diagnosed her with small nodules on her spleen resulting in hemangiosarcoma, a terminal cancer with no cure. Devasated, we took her to Dr. Dwyer, who was very concerned with the original diagnosis and called in a professional radiologist to conduct a thorough ultrasound. Yes, it was a bit more expensive, but the original "doctor" did not catch the fact that our little girl had a softball size tumor on her spleen. The original doctor said that he would not perform surgery to remove the spleen unless we decided to go through with Chemo and that if we didn't go through with the Chemo that we should go home and make her comfortable as she only had about 2-6 months...he said: we'd be lucky to see 2 months. Dr. Dwyer felt very strongly that she perform the surg

saving my best friend

I went in to see Dr. Dwyer this morning. She told me that she was saddened by some negative reviews of her online. I was shocked. I have been coming to her for 7 years. She has kept my Penny happy and healhy. Even though there have been some times where I had to do some expensive tests to treat Penny, Dr. Dwyer has always been very careful to do what is necessary. I will never forget what she has done for me. She has given me my best friend back. Thank you Dr. Dwyer for being there for me whenever I needed you, day or night.

Outstanding Vet!!!!

My beautiful siamese cat got VERY sick about 4 yrs ago now; she wouldn't eat, layed around more than normal & generally didnt want to move. We took her to Dr. Dwyer and found out she was in kidney failure. Her chances to live were bleak but Dr. Dwyer was very diligent and aggressive in her treatment and my cat came thru. Dr. Dwyer was very upfront, honest, and took the time to explain what was happening. I will never take my cat anywhere else for treatment.

Let Me Tell You

If you're looking for a vet that is only concerned about making money, then look no further. She is the absolute worst Vet I have ever come in contact with. She couldn't find exactly what was wrong with our beloved dog after charging us thousands of dollars and even sending us somewhere else. Her solution was to put her down. Well, we decided to go back to her Dr. that we had before we moved and guess what? Our dog is doing wonderful!! So we travel almost 100 miles in one direction to see the best Vet in the world. I wish I never would have even stepped foot inside Royal Oaks. My neighbors don't have anything good to say either. After she put their dog down they go elsewhere as well .My vet(the good, kind Dr.) was ashamed at what had happened to us at Royal Oaks. Please, if you love your pet....don't go here

Disappointing!

Had wonderful Vets in Detroit and Orlando. Moved to Clermont 2 years ago, and the first Vet (Four Corners) was the same as today's Vet...Disappointing.I have a 10 year old Cocker who has had various complaints but nothing on an emergency level. I called Royal Oaks and said my situation was not an emergency, but wanted to get my dog in as he had a skin problem on his back and legs. The girl came back and said, "How about 3:30 tomorrow?". That cost me $64 because they called it a "Work In Unscheduled Examination"...huh? I was calling for an appointment and even said it was not an emergency! The list of things done and to be done started to total $422! And I hadn't even gotten the flea meds I wanted to get. What's with Clermont? This Vet could be good and I'm sure she's thorough, but I had told them I couldn't afford a lot as I was on a pension but they just kept adding things to be done, just like the last Vet had. I'm not new to this, I've had pets all my life. But I just can't

Wonderful Vet!

We have 3 dogs and had just relocated to Florida when we found Dr. Dwyer. She is smart, loves animals and works with us any way she can. One of our dogs had been on a steroid based medication for many months and Dr. Dwyer suggested we test for a bladder infection. The test revealed a raging infection that had already started to affect her kidneys! Fortunately, after a couple rounds of antibiotics she's doing great. Dr. Dwyer also suggested a food trial because we've been fighting allergies with this dog for years -- the food and a new non-steroidal medicine has made her a whole new dog! We love Royal Oaks and the whole staff. It's such a comfort to be able to trust them with all of our furry babies!
