First off I’d like to say that I’ve read the other reviews and I’m a bit surprised? I had the exact opposite experience as others that have reviewed here. I quoted half a dozen roofers in WNY not counting the ones that never called back/followed up. The experience I had with Stockmohr is bar none the best I’ve ever had with a contractor. I’m one of those home owners that will do everything myself. That being said when it came to having a roof installed I opted to save my back for other jobs.

I called Stockmohr and two days later one of their salesmen was at my house going over the project with me. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He informed me that I had multiple types of roof venting installed and that it would be best to change to a ridge vent and remove the others. I had no idea how wrong the roof was and was glad they took the time explaining it.

After gathering multiple quotes I called Stockmohr to let them know id like them to do the job. I found out the the salesman I worked with was no longer working for the company and was told the owner Kurt would contact me. He did within the next few days and came out to my house to “see the project with his own eyes” and went over everything in great detail. I had a very positive experience and was pleased the owner took time to do what he had employees to do for him.

I was told the job would be done in 4-6 weeks time. They came in 3! One of their employees came early the day of install to set up the trailer. He told me the crew would be arriving shortly and I went off to work. I came home that evening and the only indication that someone was there that day was the Stockmohr sign on my lawn. I walked my property and found small odds and ends (nails, pieces of shingle and plastic).

I dropped off the final check the following week and told the office employees all this and they sent someone out the next day to take care of my concerns. I will use stockmohr again in the future and recommend them to anyone.

Let me start by saying this review is based on their customer service not the overall product. Last Friday they installed a new roof on our house. The roof looks great and so far so good. However, where this company falls off is their customer service.





The owner's son Doug called me the night before. I asked him if there was anything I need to do to our landscaping. He assured me they cover everything with plywood and he would be there in the morning to review everything with me.





The next morning someone came to drop off supplies and about 10 minutes later the crew was there to begin the job. However, no one came to the door to review the project or walk the grounds with me as I had been told. At the end of the day they crew cleaned up and left. No one spoke to me the entire day. They were supposed to collect a check at the beginning and end of the project. Those checks are still sitting on my desk.





When they were done I went outside to find an entire row of flowers and a shrub flat as a pancake. The downspout extensions had not been put on. To make matters worse the crew also used my shed as their personal bathroom throughout the day.





I left a voicemail Friday evening for Doug to voice some of my concerns. Monday just before lunch I received a call from a secretary saying they would send someone out to look at it (they have yet to come out). A few minutes later I got a call from Bill our sales person to ask about the downspouts. At that time I told him how unhappy I was with the customer service aspect of it. He was surprised to hear that Doug did not show up on the day of the job, collect a check and of course the "bathroom" issue. That was the last I have heard from them. It's now two days later.





What bothers me most is that Doug is the owner in training and he doesn't seem to have an interest in rectifying a situation with an unhappy customer. It was down to Stockmohr and Black Rock for this job. I went with Stockmohr to save $800. At this point I think I made a mistake.





I will certainly update this review if any new developments occur.





**Update 7/2/2015** They did come back out and replace our bushes and downspout extensions. Which was very much appreciated. Still I had never been able to have a conversation with Doug. He just showed up unannounced and scared my wife when she open the garage and he was standing there. Then he told me he'd come by and do the final walk through. When the Stockmohr truck pulled up, guess what? No Doug. It was Doug's father. I expressed all of my concerns with their customer service and was basically told a bunch of excuses. I keep hearing how Doug is pulled in different directions. I told them it feels like my $11,000 isn't as good as their other customers. Which I was then told "no what you should feel is..." That was about all I could take. Please don't tell me how to feel. I'm the customer telling you how I feel about your service. And he also kept telling me that they aren't here to hold hands. I understand that but make me feel better about signing over the 2nd biggest check I've ever written in my life.





I was also told that Doug didn't respond to me right away because other people were shouting louder than me. I changed that pretty quickly.





Overall, workmanship I'd give them a 4 out of 5. Customer service a 2 out of 5 and that's only because they did make good on the shrubs and downspouts. If you're looking for a roof, they can put one on. If you're looking to feel good about signing over an enormous check then this isn't your place.

They appeared to have had 'good' workmanship when they had a BIG contract upgrading our house, however when it comes to a SMALL job fixing (i.e. gutters, etc) they don't even return calls! In the future Stockmohr wouldn't be our choice.

I had my roof done w/ StockMohr in 2006

5 year warranty came w/ the job.

When I went to sell house in 2008, a leak was discovered around chimney. I begged & pleaded them to come out to look into it. After 2 weeks of call & emails,



Owner Curtis, finally used profane language over phone, then decided to come out. They did minimal, said it was my chimney's fault. I had chimney guy out to cap



& rescore it....still leaked. I finally climbed out on 2 1/2 story roof w/ gallon of tar & found leak where StockMohr attached flashing to chimney.

I will never use them for anything my home needs- ever! I cringe when I see that guy on the tv commercials...5 year warranty- right!
