Harmony Road Music Center provides a family friendly environment for your children to learn music and piano.  We offer group  lessons for toddlers, pre-schoolers, elementary-age students and adults in a safe, nurturing and respectful environment.   Each child has an adult learning partner - a parent, grandparent, older sibling other responsible adult - who attends class with them.  Their adult partner’s job is to guide them through the class and help with their home practice.

This music school uses the unique & progressive Harmony Road Music Course.   New and continuing classes follow the school year.  Beginning classes  start each September and February.  Introductory  classes are offered in January, July and August.  Various camps are offered during the summer.

Our students become proficient in many aspects of music.  Our research-based, layered and age-appropriate curriculum is a unique approach to music education.   It includes ear training, theory, composing, transposing, arranging, lead line and improvisation.  This program was developed by an Oregonian and is now used internationally.  Thousands of students in the US and abroad have learned the Harmony Road Method since it began in 1981.

My son had been attending Harmony Road for 2 years. The music education is fantastic. Its well suited to boys' learning style as it incorporates rhythm and movement along side the hands-on teaching of music. Parents are required to be present for their child for the group lessons. I especially like the group lesson aspect. Music is a social activity. Group lessons also reduce/eliminate stage fright because the kids play in front of parents and other students in every class. I gave only 4 stars because occasionally individual help isn't as timely as needed.

I have been sending my son to Harmony Road for about 7 years. He has learned to play really well and it's just great to have music in our home. I would recommend it to anyone.

I'm not sure why anyone would write a negative review about Harmony Road Music. My grandson has been attending for 5 years. I am most impressed that while he is still learning he still ENJOYS going to class. Although the school was sold and there has been some personnel changes the quality of teaching has stayed the same high level of quality and commitment that I have come to expect and require for my grandson to receive.

First of all, this is an unsolicited review and 100% honest and accurate. Don't let the fact that I can actually write articulately fool you into thinking otherwise! My two kids have been students at Harmony Road Music in Clackamas (the website is actually harmonyroadoregon.com) since the age of 5. They are now 12 and 14, and they are both accomplished pianists and musicians. The teaching staff is absolutely top-notch. The combined years of piano teaching they have is something like 50 years (it might be more - I can't recall the numbers). My kids' teacher is Yamaha trained and could not be more committed to the task of giving my kids the lifelong gift of music. The Harmony Road course is literally known around the world and has been adopted by several countries in Asia in their school systems. Our location was recently purchased and is under new management, but the transition has been seamless. I wholeheartedly recommend Harmony Road to anyone considering lessons.

This used to be a good music school, but recent personnel changes now leave that in doubt. The school was sold to one of the teachers with the requirement that she run the school and also teach 100 students. At least one of the best teachers was let go. Concerns now exist about class size and quality of instruction.
