In total, CommonWealth REIT owns approximately $6.8 billion of office and industrial properties with approximately 67.5 million square feet located in 30 states and Washington, D.C. CommonWealth REIT was founded in 1986 as a REIT that owned health care related properties. CommonWealth REIT has headquarters in Newton, Mass.
