I wish Dr Wescott was cloned. We drive 3 hours round trip every Friday for therapy. Long story very short it was by the grace of God our paths crossed through referrals and I don’t want to imagine where my son would be without him. He’s intuitive. Extremely patient. And feel like he really cares about my son getting better. He’s honest even if the answer isn’t something he can help with (referrals to OT or other needs). Thank you to all the friendly staff and caring therapists too! For those with insurance concerns: Insurance can sometimes be an issue but with a little research and some phone calls I was able to figure out how insurance can cover most of it.

Dr. Westcott and his team at Developmental Vision Care change lives every day. They have changed my life for sure. If you or a loved one has not achieved stereoscopic vision (being able to see the world in true 3D), then you must listen to me and schedule an appointment. Do not let other vision professionals tell you that you or your loved one is doomed to have a cross/wandering eye, or be stuck with viewing the world in only two dimensions. This world is worth seeing in its true excellence, and it will change your life. The biggest mistake I ever made in my life was listening to previous eye consultants when they told me that there was no hope. Thank you for everything you do, DVC :) You are changing my life every day!

Dr Westcott and the staff are simply amazing. First you will have a long evaluation appointment with very thorough testing. Then you will have a meeting to go over results. Rest assured that the doctor is not going to "make up" results that show you need him. My very good friend brought her daughter in and when results showed that the child had learning issues not related to vision, Dr. W was very honest that his program was not needed, and helped her find other professionals to continue testing and figure out a better course.
If it is found that your child will benefit from vision therapy, a course will be set up, custom to your child, and you will be paired with a therapist who will be a great fit. Throughout the course of therapy, exercises will continually be adjusted to what your child exactly needs. Our course of therapy went for approximately 16 months and was *literally life-changing for our son.
The staff becomes very close with you and your family, and is a continual resource. I am very proud to highly recommend Dr. Westcott and the staff of Developmental Vision Care of Chesapeake.

Dr. Westcott is a wonderful doctor! He is incredibly knowledgeable and works well with patients of all ages. I have known many people who have come to Developmental Vision Care seeking help with troubling visual problems and have been able to witness the wonderful changes in their lives as they go through vision therapy.
