and thank you very much for thinking you know every aspect of what your talking about and he did report my wages and it was exactly what I said he owed me I was never told I had to wait to be paid he in fact told me face to face he would never leave a employee screwed. I left work every day at 2 because I came in two hours early and that was clearly ok with his supervisor rich. I did not call don 20 times in a 2 hr period I called him once a day to find out were the 1600 dollars he owes me is at. so the labor board can deal with him until I get it and in the mean time I will file a lawsuit against him. thanks for your concern good luck dealing with the ex bank robber lock your stuff up hes a theft

James P, I think you got your facts off because Michael C is not too off on his statement! There is more than a dozen employees Don aka Willie owes and the sad part is the company is in his wife's name leaving it fall on her. The department of labor has informed investigation is going on! You don't take on a job or employees with out the fincial backing! He also took final pay from Geneseo job and paid it across board when those who did Geneseo should of been paid in full first they did the work you don't Rob Peter to pay Paul! Calling or texting asking for you pay is not harassment!

Michael C's review has nothing to do with Shutters Drywall performance. I too was employed by Mr. Shutter. Shutters Drywall contracted for a large company that did not pay the last two weeks of being on the job, nor did they pay anywhere near what was owed on the contract. Guys were paid on time until there was an issue with the company paying. (Not uncommon in the construction trade). Mr. Shutter has never refused to pay what he owes, however can not pay until he gets paid. This was told to every worker who has pay coming and in fact Mr. Shutter contacted the dept. of labor to let them know what was going on. Michael C. Had harassed Mr. Shutter repeatedly on a daily basi, at times calling 20 times in a 2 hr period. Michael C. Along with everyone else were told, they would be contacted when they would receive payment. He also is not owed what he claims he is owed. Especially when he left work on a daily basis at 2 in the afternoon, it wouldn't be possible to have that much over time!

Good at first then when we experienced problems with the service. One problem was the chimney that was painted and sealed by Shutter's crew began to crack and leak into our newly remodeled bathroom. Apparently the seal wasn't very good but nevertheless we contacted him as soon as the leaking started. He put us off for nearly a week. We didn't have days or a week to let that ceiling get destroyed. This is compounded by the reality Shutter and his crew did our roof. The ceiling began to leak in two different spots at the beginning of winter. We contacted him and he put us off again. This time for nearly a month. That said he is void of integrity. If you want your job done right and backed by a person with integrity when/if it goes bad... avoid this guy. He will avoid you and lie to you. He's by far the worst contractor we dealt with while we were stationed at Fort Drum and we dealt with some unsavory characters up there.

Started off strong, but botched the last job and won't return calls or fix it. Shutter himself did good work, but some of his workers under deliver and he stands by them anyway then won't acknowledge or fix their mistakes, despite claiming a guarantee. Overall, can't trust his word - so be sure to inspect the job to ensure it's 100% complete before you make that final payment or risk being stuck with whatever is left.

I was lucky to have been serviced by Don Shutter Drywall Service by some awesome employees with great attitudes. The service provided was of the highest quality with the customer in mind. My bathroom was completely dry walled /primed / painted and in effect remolded in 2 days. Their prices are very decent and fair. This has been an amazing inspiration for me to continue to improve my home throughout. I have dealt with many contractors, but Don and his crew has been a great example for other construction teams to emulate. He is both eager to listen, provide advice & recommendations. Shutter Drywall has my resounding praise that his team has performed far beyond expectations.

They finished my cottage in Sandy Creek a month ago. I put up all the drywall but can't finish to save my life. I live in Binghamton NY and don't have the chance to get out to my cottage much this time of year. I met with Don 1 time for about 1/2 hour and between his references and the way he acted I trusted him enough to give him a down payment on the spot. He had it finished in 3 days and I came up the following week to check it out. I was very happy with the work and told him I would be more than happy to be a reference for him. I am a contractor myself and I know how hard it is to find reliable people in the construction trades. I would highly recommend these guys.

I had Don come give me an estimate for hanging, finishing, and painting 3 rooms in my home in Carthage. He said it would take 4 days to finish and I kinda laughed inside because it sounded far fetched. I hired them after seeing the references and a fair price and when they finished the job in 3 days I was impressed. They did a fantastic job not only with the work but with how clean my house was when they were done. I told Don that it was clean enough but he insisted that he finished and said it is what they do. I give these guys a 5 star rating and I am taking the time to write this review because I had been burned in the past by contractors and these guys are so professional they deserve the work.

They removed old drywall from my three car garage and work shop and installed new drywall, finished, textured, and painted in 3 days time. I am very pleased with how fast they were and very proffesional. The work is very good and I would highly recommend them.

Amazing job! My ex-husband did a horrible job hanging the drywall (thinking he knew what he was doing). I tried to finish it, but it kept cracking because of the horrible hang job. Mr. Shutter repaired everything- and the cracks did not come back!!! He also did texture on my ceiling and is currently refinishing my floor. Very professional, experienced, efficient, and reasonable.
