I have always enjoyed my stay at The English Inn. The hotel front desk staff are friendly, polite and very professional. The breakfast staff is another story. I have never submitted a review about them before, but today was awful! The sausage was hard and dry, the eggs had turned gold and runny. We asked for grits because there were only a spoonful left. The cook said "I'm not putting out anymore until those are all gone". It was her tone that repelled us. This is not the first time she has displayed an unpleasant demeanor. We felt as we were asking her to do something out of her way. Everyone have a bad day every once in a while, but we shouldn't take it out on others. I went ahead and ate some eggs, sausage and a biscuit because I was hungry and had a doctor's appointment. Needless to say, it did NOT sit well on my stomach. I realize we all need our job but not at the expense of others. Maybe a little professional courtesy training will do the trick.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights and found the inn to be delightful. The late afternoon cookies were a nice touch. The management was always friendly and helpful.They gave us good directions to places. The breakfast was very good. I especially liked the waffles. I would certainly go back anytime I could.

It was very clean. They had a wonderful pool. You can walk right down the street to a nice family restaurant and get a beer if you want and a great meal. I had a wonderful crab cake sandwich and my husband got these enormous onion rings. The next morning they had an excellent breakfast buffet and I noticed people took fruit and bagels with them for later.I would highly recommend this establishment. Very clean and reasonable priced.
