Komodo provides abacus based mental math learning programs for children of ages 5 through 12.

The child will learn basic arithmetic starting with simple single digit addition through more advanced operations such as calculation of square roots. The abacus serves as a tool for visualizing the problem and for working out the solution - with practice, the child will be able to do complex math calculations (such as 387 * 453 / 2048) in their heads faster than with a calculator!.

The main advantage in using Abacus is that the students in just few months, memorize the image of the abacus in their mind, and can perform calculations without any tools. Other benefits of the Abacus Mental Math program include improvements of numerical memory, memory of spatial arrangement and progress in solving general mathematical problems taught in elementary schools, including the four fundamental arithmetic calculations and practical word problems.

The program is for two groups, the "math mini" for children of ages 5 through 7 and the "math ninja" for children of ages 8 through 12.  Komodo will provide the kids with all the training material and the abacus.

Komodo has multiple location in Virginia and Maryland. The program is conducted by certified and experienced teachers in a fun and interactive learning environment.
