Robert D. Walker always knew that he wanted to work with young people and assumed it would be either as a teacher or as a coach at the High School level. While he was attending college at BYU, he became interested in the pre-dental classes his friend was taking. Fortunately for all of us, he went onto Dental school, earning his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Colorado. By that time, he knew that becoming an Orthodontist was his real dream, however, he knew that he needed to work hard to get into the highly selective program to study Orthodontics. He was one of three students accepted out of nearly 200 applicants to the University of Nebraska for the Masters Program in Orthodontics . Since 2000, Dr. Walker has been practicing Orthodontics here in the East Valley. Dr. Walker's roots are right here in the East Valley, growing up in Mesa. He attended many of the same schools his patients are now students at, including Powell Jr. High and Westwood High School. He currently lives in Gilbert with his Wife, Katee, and five daughters, Abby, Emily, Elizabeth, Sara and Jane. When Dr. Walker isn't at the office making beautiful smiles he enjoys working as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, running marathons and relays, and spending time with his family and volunteering with his church. He also enjoys reading proffessional journals and articles about Orthodontics and is a self proclaimed "Ortho Geek". Currently Dr. Walker is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association, as well as the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the Arizona State Orthodontic Association, the Arizona Orthodontic Study Club and the Arizona Dental Association. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and is Board Certified.

Always Fantastic!

Dr. Walker was very patient with me and answered all my many questions. I understood exactly what he was planning to fix my daughter's extreme overbite. He let me know it's best to wait for the growth spurt that happens after all they baby teeth are out, about 11 yrs old. The office staff are always so very friendly and answer any concerns I have. They are very helpful and understanding with insurance and financial questions, too. They are very prompt and you don't wait long in the office. They also have a great appointment reminder system. My daughter really likes choosing the colors for her braces! So fun! The best experience you could ever ask for in dealing with braces.

Fantastic!
