Reliable Mechanical is wonderful! Not only are they very knowledgeable but it is an outstanding family owned business.

I needed my thermocouple replaced on my water heater because the pilot kept going out. When I made the appointment, I told them as such. They did not bring one with them and included the time to go purchase the thermocouple (about 30 minutes) in the final bill. Sadly, the thermocouple was not the problem, so they came the next day and told me it was the vent to the closet. Before they came, I did my research to conclude that the next best step was to replace the water heater entirely, so I was expecting a quote for that. They didn't provide a quote. And the pilot went out again. At the third appointment, they kept focusing on the vent to the closet and the ventilation system in the whole building until I finally asked for a quote. The technician indicated that he was just going to tell me. It was $1500. I had called other places earlier that day; the cheapest was $1100. Ultimately, my family came to replace the water heater at a cost of less than $500. And all the places I called wanted to put in a bigger water heater than what would fit in the closet; Reliable had access to the closet and still wanted the bigger one installed. They then proceeded to charge me about $420 for ultimately replacing a thermocouple and adding a screw to the vent, both of which resulted in no positive outcome. I tried to be reasonable and suggest that I pay for the first visit only, but they simply wouldn't work with me. They accused me of trying to make them work for free; I told them that we would not be using their services in the future. Their response: "I'm sorry to hear that." I even complained to the Better Business Bureau, and Reliable simply ignored the complaint. They are simply unreasonable to work with, and with so many other options available in the area, I will choose someone else next time.

Reliable Mechanical tried to sell us a new $6,000 air conditioner to replace a unit that was in perfectly good working condition. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Tried for months to get them to fix a problem thru American Home Shield without success.

When I called for service, was able to speak to a live person that promptly scheduled my appointment. Service technician was knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem.
