STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I go to UIUC. I use my motorcycle to get around but it was making a noise I couldn't diagnose so my dad called the guy at Freedoms choice. My dad was under the impression he would come pick the bike up as a service so I called the owner who said he would come pick it up at 9am before my class at 10. The next morning I drove my bike that was otherwise fine (important detail) to the designated meeting area 5 minutes early, but he arrived at 9:45. I would have said nevermind but I was going to be late for class and I needed to get going. Right before he left he handed me a paper that turned out to be a $50 bill for pick up. The issue turned out to be a bad fan bearing. A simple fix. The following month consisted of him saying it will be done soon but eventually ignoring our calls. It came around to the last week of school. He said it would be done for sure on Wednesday so my parents came and hot my stuff Thursday morning and I turned in my room key. All I had was the clothes I was wearing and my gear. I planned to make the road trip home after I picked up the bike Thursday evening. Evening came and when I called he seemed agrivated and said he was too busy to get to my bike. I slept at a friends place and called first thing Friday. The receptionist said it would be done friday evening so I spent the day wandering around the town homeless in my dirty clothes. I tried calling that evening but nobody would pick up. I told my dad and he used a coworkers phone to call him. Of course, the bike wasn't fixed so my parents came all the way back to pick me up Friday night. Saturday morning we called and figured out they didn't even have the part yet. I just picked my bike up a few days ago by trailer. All the bolts were rusted as it had been left out in the rain. When I got home I discovered the engine was siezed up. I took it to a new mechanic who told me the engine had been ruined and would need to be overhauled.

BBB RATING OF F. I strongly advise anyone needing services to look elsewhere. David Burton has owed me $300 for "scrapping" my bike at Freedom's Choice since September 2015. He refuses to pay, using excuses including the bank losing the check, having a sickness in the family, and the shop being robbed. Look up reviews and BBB rating (currently F). This is not a trustworthy business; take your bike elsewhere.
