William Hupp established Hupp Electric Motors under the name of Electric Motors Company in 1912 to provide the wiring in local grain mills and elevators. When Hupp passed away in 1938, his son, Julian Hupp, took over the business, focusing instead on the sale and repair of electric motors, motor controls and power tools. In 1963, the new and current name of Hupp Electric Motors was adopted. The company consists of an electric motors and engineered products division. Hupp services include controls, drives and systems, millwright services, a crane and hoist division, motor repair and field services and predictive maintenance. Hupp has five locations throughout Iowa and Illinios. The company s home office is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
