Dr. Singer is an excellent doctor. I have always been treated well by the staff. She actually knows that our diet does affect our health and is knowledgeable about the subject, including gut health. I have found her generally supportive of alternative medicine but been clear about her reasons whenever I ask about a different treatment. She was completely fine that I am a chronic pain patient and my pain doc would continue to treat that. She is up on the latest research and will not write a prescription just because I ask about it. Her office does have some of those items that pharma reps give but not many. Nor has she tried to write a prescription for some new med or other. I even had to ask for a diabetes continuous glucose monitoring device instead of one of the standard meters. She was familiar with it and prescribed it as I requested. But she did not try to push it on me like I expected she would. She does sell expensive supplements but she never acted like her products were the only ones that would work.
I am so glad that I found Dr. Singer. She is very careful about treating the symptoms that I have and not the ones that I "should" have. She asks for diagnostic evidence and uses those results to guide treatment. That all sounds basic but... I've seen all kinds of doctors do things that don't make sense and they get mad if you ask. I have PTSD caused by one of my former doctors. I surprised myself when I realized that I stopped being afraid very quickly. She is very focused and she didn't let me stop answering questions long enough for me to get really frightened. And next thing I knew, she was my doctor and not a scary stranger.
I think Dr. Singer is a knowledgeable and competent doctor and I am happy to be her patient. Her staff has always been great, too.
