Cape May County Park and Zoo is governed by a board of chosen freehold directors. The zoo comprises the African Savanna Bridge, World of Birds and the Amphibian and Reptile House. Located in Cape May Court House, N.J., it offers picnic areas, walk and bike paths, fishing ponds and playgrounds. The Cape May County Park and Zoo is built on more than 200 acres with various forested areas maintained in their natural state. It also offers guided tours for schools and organizations. The zoo has more than 200 different species of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles totaling nearly 550 animals. Cape May County Park and Zoo is accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, and is open everyday except Christmas.
