Business History

Trading Post Music in Canton opened in 1983 as a used book exchange. We soon began selling new books and moved into music in the form of LPs and tapes. We became a CD store when CDs came out and added lots of other Rock n Roll related items such as t-shirt, patches, stickers, posters, tapestries, clothing & incense. When Amazon & the big box stores came around we sadly had to let the books go. In 2000 we moved into a larger location and in 2009 bought the building we are currently in. We also own Eastern Accents, a store in New Hartford which carries our collection of goods imported directly from Nepal, Thailand, Bali & India including jewelry, clothing & ladies accessories, woodcarvings, tapestries & incense.
