This business was a great find!



Back when we were so poor that we'd make the "Your Mama" show jokes with: Your Mama is so broke she sends you to the store, on your bike, to pick up the groceries with the food stamps...because she ain't got no car!



Anyhow, she brought me and my brothers down here to this bike shop to buy some BMX bikes that our grandparents afforded with Christmas money. I used mine so much that I broke the front axil on the bike, before I knew there were axles! Dang high curbs, mountain bike paths, and brothers (With flat tires) riding on the handle bars accidents! Anyhow the guy at the service desk just looked at me like I must have been running marathons and fixed it.



The walk from our house was a nice, long, scenic view down the road perpendicular to the shop. Me carrying the front end of my bike and the brothers riding circles around me. Mom trying to be patient on her land cruiser...Incidently, she really got most of the groceries on her bike! It was a warm California day, and the reception was a nice cool bike shop with that funny look he gave me as he quickly figured out what damage I had done.



Life's short...but this was a memorable moment and service with five stars!



The bike got stolen years later, still in great shape as a BMX/Mongoose cross, chrome with red high lights. Some vets decided to take it off in a drunken stooper and it never showed back up. I'm glad they took the bike instead of me! I'd pay to get a quality bike like that again!
