I ordered 32 chicks from Dunlap. There were no extras, so 32 is what I received. One was dead. However, two of the chicks had splay leg. I feel that it should have been noticed when they packed them for shipment because it was quite obvious from the second I looked at them.



Aside from that, they put the wrong phone number on my package, so the postal service spent two hours trying to reach me at a number that was no good.



When I contacted them, they very curtly said they'd credit my account. No apology. No concern at all.



I have not used Dunlap hatchery before so I can't speak as to whether this is typical from them, but I know my dealings with them are over.



Updated to add that two more chicks died within a few hours of picking them up.

I had heard great things about their services and although they were polite when we picked out our pullets, they were VERY rude when we called to explain that one of our pullets turned into a rooster. Their response? "Yeah, that happens". 3 other friends of mine have had roosters develop from guaranteed pullets and have each received the same type of reply from Dunlap Hatchery. It is hard to explain to a 5 year old why we cannot keep this chicken that we have been holding, carrying and caring for over the past 4 months.

They are very helpful every time I call or come in. This time I was looking for leg bands for my baby canaries and the very nice lady that helped me with that asked all the right questions, which will make my drive from Nyssa to Caldwell worth while...
