    Dr Whiteside

by Carolyn Blake Press , 05/13/2013

My 10 year old dog just had a cancerous growth removed by Dr Whiteside. Dr Whiteside has such an excellent "bed side' manner. He is very professional, knowledgeable, compassionate......and patient. I would not take my pets to any other vet in this area!!!! He truly cares about both the animal and the owners. I would HIGHLY recommend Wynn Haven to anyone. The techs, front office are ALL absolutely wonderful...they all go above and beyond.

Thank you so much for the kind words! We try very hard to make sure that all of our human and animal clients leave happy!

Dr. Whiteside is the worst avian vet around!

    by FLAnimalLover , 09/10/2012

Dr. Whiteside, who claims to be an avian vet, refused to set our chicken's broken leg stating it is "out of his comfort zone"?? This is the second incident in the last six months...last time one of our chickens had an obvious broken neck and he refused to euthanize her, wanting to give $300 worth of steroids and "wait and see"! If you are looking for an avian vet, go elsewhere for the sake of your pet! :(

We do our very best to treat any animal who comes through our doors and if we can not we will do our best to help our clients find specialty care. We pride ourselves on giving the very best care we can, this includes treatment for the animals and knowledge and advice to the owners. This particular case was called in after hours on our emergency line. Based on the information given to us by the owner we did not feel comfortable offering guidance over the phone and feel strongly that it is in our clients best interest to admit when something is out of our comfort zone rather than try to offer triage over the phone for a case we are not familiar with. We are very sorry this individual was unhappy with our services in this situation. We know that the majority of people seeking our care are very pleased with the care, services and knowledge we do provide and are impressed and grateful that we are willing to admit when it will be in the best interest of the animal to seek help from vets who specialize in areas in which we feel they will benefit.
