Duct cleaning
For the last 32 years we have used a 10 step process to make sure we do the best possible job in cleaning your duct system.
Step 1: Upon arrival we check to see that we have the best possible access to your duct system.
Step 2: If the duct work has never been cleaned, we will install a 10x10 access plate in the warm air side of your duct system. This is for our hose to fit into your duct work. If there is already an access plate we will use it.
Step 3: Next we lay out our hose that connects to our truck. If the furnace is in your house we will lay protective tarps down first.
Step 4: We will cover each vent in the house (warm and cold) to help create a sealed vacuum in the duct system.
Step 5: Then we bring our air hose into each vent starting with the furthest vent from the furnace.
Step6: Next we start up our truck mounted vacuum which creates 16,000 cubic feet per minute (cfm) of vacuum in the duct system. Using our compressed air at 200psi we clean out each vent pushing the dirt into the vacuum. Internal duct cleaning devices are used as needed during this process.
Step 7: After we are finished cleaning the duct system we inspect the main trunk lines, (warm and cold) for any additional cleaning that may be needed.
Step 8: Once we are done we will put our air hose and suction hose away. Then we will pick up all of our covers over the vents, and replace any furniture we might have moved
Step 9: We now install the 10x10 access plate using metal tape to create an air tight seal, and then four screws to secure it to the duct system. We then recommend installing a new air filter (a Dust Magnet 90 ).
Step 10: Finally we put our sticker on your furnace, date the sticker for future reference and we are done.
A/C Coils
Willard Power Vac uses a non evasive process for cleaning a/c coils, our process consists of the following:
- we start with compressed air and vacuum to control dust and remove the heaviest dirt.
- we then use a coil cleaner/degreaser which penetrates into the fins of the coils to remove any remaining dust and dirt, bringing back the coils original shine.
- we then, if necessary use compressed air once again to finish the job
This process is time tested and has been proven to be very effective.
Fireplaces & Chimneys
Willard Power Vac has several different ways of cleaning fireplaces and chimneys. We always begin with protecting our customers property.
with a straight fireplace and chimney
- we lay out tarps to protect the floor and areas around the chimney.
- we then check to insure the damper is open.
- we then seal off the front of the fireplace with a tarp and duct tape.
- we then climb to the top of the chimney and sweep the chimney down with wire brushes that fit the size of each individual chimney.
- we then return to the fireplace and using a portable vacuum we clean out and remove any debris from the firebox, vacuuming all the walls down and cleaning up the floor of the firebox.
This process ensures a clean safe fireplace for future use.
