Since you were on the phone when we called you're screwed. by gecko2207 - 10/14/2009I scheduled an appt for a 2 hour window the following day. Since my wife was home alone with the kids, I got my parents to come hang out while the plumber was there. An hour into that time block, I was talking on the phone when I recieved a call. I let it go to voicemail and was off the call about 1 minute later. I checked my voicemail and they said that since they could not verify that I was home that I would need to call in and reschedule. I called them back, a whole maybe 4 minutes after their call and they checked with dispatch and sure enough, they had already dispatched the technician to another call. They told me there was nothing they could do and that I could reschedule. I opted for rescheduling with another plumber. Talk about horrible customer service. They could have at least have given me a 5 - 10 minute call back window. I can't be the only person that has ever been on the phone when they called. What if you were in the restroom or talking to your boss at work. Totally l
Over-priced and dishonest by DKM - 08/05/2009A Whipple plumber told me I had high water pressure at 100 PSI and needed to have him replace the PRV - pressure regulator valve for $500 or else it would void the warranty on the water heater they installed 3 years ago. I didn't trust him so I called a local plumber in Ogden who informed me it would cost $350 to replace the PRV if it was faulty. They checked the water pressure at two different places before doing anything and found the water pressure was at 75 PSI. They didn't charge me for the service call and saved me $500 for unnecessary work.If Whipple recommends service, I would shop around for a second opinion and price quote. They did a good job installing the new water heater, furnace, and central air 3 years ago, but they are over-priced and may recommend service that is not required.
Good People, Good Work by LW - 07/30/2009I was very impressed with all of the techs--both plumbing and A/C--who came to our home. They were professional and thorough. Yes, they were also pushing the business and encouraged us to have additional work done above that which we had originally called them for (some of their recommendations we followed, some not), but that's business. Their work was excellent; they were on time, neat and courteous; and there was follow-up to be sure that we were satisfied. We will continue to do business with and recommend Whipple to others.
Nightmare! Shame on you Whipple. by CC - 07/28/2009These people are excellent salesmen but terrible plumbers. Our experience with them was horrible. We were lied to, our estimate was DOUBLE what another company charged us, and work was done that was unnecessary. We will be pursuing formal complaints with the BBB.
service call by shelleybean - 09/30/2007I asked if there was a fee for a service call, I was told no. After the call the service man wanted to charge me for a service call. A phone call was placed to the main office...after a bit of time the service call was dismissed...a bit dissapointing
