I want to share my experience with you so this doesn’t continue to happen to existing or future owners of Westridge homes. I strongly suggest if you own a Westridge Builders home, intend to sell or purchase a Westridge built home, you find out what is behind the siding because you may find ZERO Tyvek/wrap like I did. If your house isn’t leaking now, it may begin to leak in the near future. Do your research because you will find by reading other reviews on Facebook and checking the Better Business Bureau website, other owners have experienced the same or worse. Don’t be surprised if you have to re-side your house because Westridge didn’t follow the manufacturer’s instructions, which voids your warranty. Someone has to do something about his, so feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in joining a class-action lawsuit against Westridge Builders and Carl Tomich. Like others, you can provide a review or file a BBB complaint.

I purchased my Westridge Builders Brookside V home from the original owner when the house was only 9 years old. Soon after, I discovered shingles were blowing off the roof of the house. Westridge installed defective Certainteed organic shingles and they were deteriorating at an alarming rate. I had to replace the roof on a house that was only 9 years old. Soon after that, I began to notice leaks in areas throughout the house. I brought this to Westridge’s attention and they said the house needed more caulk to fix the issues. What a company. I had several contractors come out to the house and tell me the siding was causing the leaks because Westridge did not install the James Hardie siding in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. There is supposed to be a weather-resistive barrier behind the siding like Tyvek/wrap. Because the siding was failing due to how it was installed, the warranty only covered a miniscule amount of the cost to replace the siding. To take care of all of the leaks I had to install James Hardie wrap and replace the James Hardie siding that was supposed to last 50 years. Now the house is weather tight, and no more leaks!

Here are pictures of the house during the siding project showing no wrap to protect the house behind the siding
