Been through a lot and this is topping it off!!

I'm the youngest patient at Vick Street Manor currently 24 years old. This place is for Assisted Living Patients. That means if you know somebody who needs a nurse 24/7 than this isn't the place. It's not locked down, you got your freedom with a shopping plaza close by with a great friendly Centennial Bank neighbor. I'm young, been through a lot and I have no problems to complain about this place!!

As a resident

As a resident I find it in poor taste that past disgruntled employees write reviews and they get passed on as residents thoughts. The new owners have changed this place and pumped money into it. It may not be the Ritz, but its pretty nice and the care the staff gives us is First Class.

AHCA complaint investigation of Feb 6, 2014 Unsubstantiated

Our old administrator left in mid-January, Betty Polito, our director of care for more than 8 years, took over as our acting administrator. We are very pleased with all the things she has done in just a month. She has improved the staffing, the cleanliness, the activities management. The staff is so much happier and the residents are thrilled with Betty in charge. It's a great place. Give it a second look.

Why is this place able to be in business???

I used to provide entertainment for this facility and I am in shock that it hasn't been shut down. I have talked with several of the residents and it breaks my heart to hear their stories. Lack of care, overrun with bedbugs, poor quality food, theft, are just to name a few of the complaints that have been told to me. Vick St. Manor needs to be condemned. Any other assisted living facility is better than this one. PLEASE do not send your loved ones here, and pray for the unfortunate souls who already live there and have no other place to go.

Please be advised!!!

Vick St. Manor is one of the worst if not the worst assisted living facility in Charlotte county. There is never enough staff due to a high turn over rate. Residents rights are constantly violated, treatment to residents is below average, and quality of life is poor due to the owner and new administrator only looking for the quickest and easiest way to make money. They claim to have an Altzheimers/dementia unit but its only an overcrowded lock down unit with not enough staff to run it. This place deserves to be shut down.

Beware

If you love your family member, do not put them in this facility. They may have a special care license but they do not have enough staff to take proper care of the residents in the lockdown dementia section, nor is the staff CNA's (certified nursing assistants) a certification necessary to take care of this type of patient. This facility's admissions and directing staff makes promises that they cannot keep as far as the care of your loved one is concerned. I also found the director to be rude and unprofessional.

10-2012

Vick Street Manor is a disgrace and not a place for anyone who needs dementia care. Their dementia ward has caring people working but not enough to care to the needs of its patients. The director is unprofessional and should be in a different line of work as she is rude and uncaring to family members with concerns.
