    I Recommend This Business Group!!!

    I really recommend this business brokers company for buying or selling businesses in Fort Myers and in whole Florida, USA. Because before a week ago, i was looking to start a new small business in Fort Myers i had seen so many different kind of businesses but still i do not get my desired type of business.
    Then i decided to go with a business brokers and i have choose four business brokers at a time and Truforte business group was also one of them.     Top Notch Organization- Excellent Results!

    Amen Charlie! I would have to say I agree. This is a top-notch organization and they far exceeded my expectations with the sale of my professional practice. I did have to carry some paper but after all was said and done they were able to help me minimize the tax liabilities while maximizing the sale price. I would have never thought my business would have sold for nearly $1 million dollars! And you are right the owners are by far some of the best Brokers in the business. No regrets here!

    Unethical and Lazy Broker

    If you use this company to sell your business, make sure you have a good attorney to protect you from your broker. When we met with Bruce (the owner in Fort Myers) and his sales rep Jamie (Lakewood Ranch) they promised they would accompany all potential buyers when visiting our business, as I stated this was very important to me so they could answer any questions and explain the business. This did not happen. The few buyers they did manage to entice came unaccompanied so nobody was there to explain the business to them or answer their questions. They were given several leads by myself that they did not follow up on. Upon receiving no response, I emailed them myself. I found out they were not followed up on when a representative from one of the companies came to our business that I personally emailed. She said she contacted Jamie, but she would not give any information about my business and would not even give out the name. Jamie previously told me that this company was not interested and then later stated she never spoke to her. In a previous conversation, she mentioned she had a friend who loved our business but was waiting because his money was tied up in Argentina. I believe she was not properly showing the business so this person could buy it. Totally unethical. Unfortunately, there is no clause in the contract to allow for early termination due to their negligence. When the broker found out we met with this company on our own without her, she suddenly began following up one of the leads I had given her several months prior. One of those leads immediately placed an offer, which we accepted. Unfortunately, when Jamie presented the offer to my husband and I, she presented it as though the buyer did not want to purchase more than 125k in inventory and we could sell off any excess inventory. She did not explain that anything less than that would be deducted. We also explained to her that we planned to use the average yearly margin to come up with the inventory value since we had over 30,000 items and the costs in our database were not correct. She agreed this was a fair way to assess the value and we accepted the offer. She mentioned the buyer had 19 stores and was building his portfolio so he could sell it in a couple years. Based on her actions after that, it was clear that she began working for the buyer rather than the seller (us) who was paying her commission, in hopes of securing the future listing from the buyer. We met with the buyer after accepting the offer and they did not agree to the average margin like Jamie had said. Instead, they wanted a copy of our entire database out of our cash register system so they could take it back to their corporate office and decide for themselves what our costs were. When I refused, Jamie and Bruce both threatened me with breach of contract. Thankfully, I had been through this process before and knew this was not part of the normal due diligence process, which had already passed, and did not give up the information and hired an attorney. As my accountant said, why would someone buy your business if they have all of the details of what you sell, how much you sell, who you buy it from, and how much you sell it for.The NDA (non-disclosure agreement) that Truforte has the buyers sign does NOT protect the seller's information. The NDA is simply a contract between the buyer and Truforte stating that the buyer heard about the business through them and are under contract for 2 years and if they buy it after the listing has expires, they will owe commission to Truforte. It states in the contract that the broker has all the power and the buyer can use the seller's confidential information with Truforte's permission, not the seller's permission, but Truforte's. The NDA DOES NOT protect the seller. I absolutely would not...
