We built a brand new home in 2018. We contracted Tidewater Lumber for our hard wood floors, the install and finish. Ryan Datko from Personal Touch Flooring was Tidewaters installation contractor. They, Tidewater nor Personal Touch Flooring, DO NOT AND WILL NOT stand behind their work. After trying to work with them and going back and forth for almost a year trying to get our floors fixed, we were instructed to hire an independent inspector, at our expense of course, and then sue them. Well since they are not willing to make things right we did just that. We have now hired a certified independent inspector and his findings were “improper installation”. They did not use long enough staples to secure the floors, they did not leave space around the perimeter of the rooms for the wood to expand and contract, they did not glue down the 5" wide boards as the hardwood floor association recommends so now we have retained an attorney to do exactly as they directed us to, sue them. Ironic, our attorney is representing another family with installation problems from Tidewater Lumber as well.
