Recent Food Decision To Discontinue all Fresh Fruit

My parent recently moved into The Springs-Independent Living in Missoula in March. At that time there were NO fresh fruit options despite seasonal fruits available. The local dining room director responded to my plea to please add these nourishing foods to their otherwise institutional menu. Remember these folks are paying onver $3000/month to live independently. I was told it would be difficult because "corporate" wanted to save money and it might not happen. Well, it did for a few months and everyone loved it. I was told last week that "corporate" told them to discontinue it because it was too expensive and they are now providing canned fruit cocktail for thei "fruit". I am horrified. Fruit is is season,. There are local growers in the valley including a farm close by. Corporate needs to trim the budget. Tell me how on earth does this add value to the residents? Why not trim lawn services, close the billiards room where I've NEVER seen anyone use or trim back the expensiv
