place to avoid
by callitlikeiseeit , 09/30/2014
I've been ignoring my gut and continued going here for 3 years but we are finally leaving. With the exception of one dr. (Dr. Anderson) every experience we've had there has been disappointing. Overall, it is dingy and dirty in sore need of updating. Sadly, the office staff is severely lacking in grace and common sense. They make it so very difficult to schedule an appointment and they are just not very nice while doing it. Most importantly, the doctors leave a lot to be desired. They are gruff and unkind. Make little to no eye contact and all have a condescending air about them. Up until now, I've ignored it because my kids are little and they don't notice. Recently though, I brought my older children (pre-teen), and both left feeling badly about themselves and like the doc was unkind to them. So, save yourself the frustration. There are plenty other local pediatric centers to choose from. It's time we all left this one behind.
Children & Adolescents

I've been going to this place since my pregnancy with my eldest, who is now 39. It used to be Women & Children's Medical Center. Now, with my youngest who is 16. Never had a problem with anyone there (except a strange female dr that made my daughter & I both uncomfortable). Otherwise, if you ask smart questions, no one treats you like you're stupid. You can request a particular doctor or PA for your appointment. If it's an emergency, it's no different than an ER at a hospital. Never have I felt belittled or inferior there. Take care of your own records, for your own child, then there will be no issues or fees requesting what you should already have done yourself.
Wanted to charge me $15 for immunization records
by Idaho Falls Mom , 07/08/2011
I have been going to this center for over 10 years. Very dissappointed in phone receptionist. Was told that it would cost $15 for immunization records. I tried talking to their business manager and was put on hold for 5 minutes then sent to voice mail. I called the Health Department and obtained the immunization records upon walking into their office, free and with a smile. Sorry, I won't be going back. We'll look for a new pediatric doctor for our children!

I had been going to this practice since it was over on 9th street and tiny... so over 7 years. I now have toddler as well. One night she had a really high fever and possibly strep. My husband went here. It was Saturday (when they are open) and 15 min till closing. He stood knocking at the door (with a crying child) since someone had decided to close early. A woman motioned through the door... sorry, they were closed and walked away. REALLY PEOPLE? On top of that, it's hard to get an appointment, and every-time we are there my kids see someone new. I am over it.

I dont like seeing new doctors all the time. Last doctor seen was very impersonal and treated me like i was stupid. Not going back.

My best medical experiences with my children have been through this clinic. Dr. Pettit especially really took a personal interest and concern for my children and has always been professional and kind. Dr. Veber is really smart and on top of current medicine. Other doctors have worked quickly and effectively. Good doctors, good clinic.

Have taken my child here several times, and while they are often busy, they have made us feel welcome and have done a great job at taking care of our needs. My daughter was happy that she just was able to feel better! If you are looking for a great clinic, with people that care, then come to the Pediatric Center.
Wouldn't see my son due to paperwork
by RandyE , 07/29/2010
We are new to the area. My son was very sick one morning with a sinus infection, and we called and tried to get him seen at the Pediatric Center. The receptionist would not make time for him, suggesting we go to an urgent care clinic. They wanted us to fill out paperwork in advance to ever needing to see the doctor. I can't believe they would not even allow us to come in, fill out paperwork, then see a doctor. Dr, Porter's office at Idaho Falls Pediatrics was much more professional and accommodating. If you are looking for a clinic that care's more about your child than their paperwork, skip The Pediatric Center.
