Over price, poor service by skb123 - 03/26/2008
If you want to pay an arm and a leg for a meal, you might like this place. But I can think of places where the food is just as good and nearly half what this place charges. Good grief a cup of coffee will set you back over 3.00!

You Name it; They Make It! by tj - 10/28/2007
when it comes to pancakes, they make the best!

Breakfast at Tiffany's? Tiffany never had it so good. by dex - 10/25/2007
This place is a Portland ICON. The prices are high and the wait is terrible but that doesn't stop anyone. People are willing to stand in line and pay such high prices because they know the quality is beyond terrific.

Try it I promise you won't be dissappointed.

very good pancake house by SuzyQP - 10/23/2007
I enjoy this pancake house and always have the German Pancake.

Best breakfast in town! by Hauser - 10/21/2007
My mouth waters just thinking about the Dutch Baby or the Apple Pancake. This place has been a favorite of mine for years. The coffee is better here than at any coffee shop I've ever been to and the service is great. Plan on a long wait if you don't get there early, especially on weekends. And be sure to check the hours of operation. But believe me- it's worth the wait! I only wish they were open 7 days a week and stayed open for dinner.

Long Wait by seaturtle - 10/21/2007
Send one person ahead or you will be frustrated with the wait. Loud and crowded, good food. Been around a long time.

Worth the Wait! by Marilyn - 10/19/2007
Another Portland mainstay--waiting for your table is part of the tradition. The food is absolutely the best for breakfast. Be sure to try the German Pancake at least once in your life!

hungry sunday by mango2 - 10/17/2007
This is the original and it feels like 1957 rather than 2007.. food was great but we forgot that you must pay by cash or check and had to scramble for the money for the bill.... there is a big puffed up thing with lemon and butter that is to die for... just bring cash.

Leave Your name - Then come back! by BobH - 10/15/2007
Best way to handle this place is to go in, leave your name & ask how long the wait is. Then go do some errands & come back & you won't waiot so long. Believe me, the wait is worth it - generous portions and unique food!

Great Breakfast Place by phantom - 10/13/2007
GREAT Breakfast place. Their dutch babies and mushroom omelettes are FANTASTIC. Great place to go on a Sunday, but bring the newspaper and something for the kids because you'll be waiting a awhile.

Best Breakfast in Town! by ShopGal - 10/05/2007
Be prepared to wait, especially if it is a weekend, but it is worth it. You will never find a fluffier omelette...I didn't even know that type of a texture was possible! Truly worth the wait!

good food but hate the wait by bear93 - 10/04/2007
I am not for standing around 45 minutes or more for a table and then have to share it with another party. Very crowded on the weekends. Very good food

Worth the wait and the $ by mac - 09/30/2007
This place rocks! Seriously the best breakfast around. They buy the best ingredients and they know how to make everything A plus. Bring the Sunday paper, because they don't take reservations and it's limited seating. Fantastic wait staff, meticulously clean, and generous portions.

Breakfast Favorite by dahlia - 09/10/2007
This restaurant has been a favorite of my family since 1968. It has an amazing and consistent menu showcasing fresh seasonal fruit. The portions are huge, so go with a big appetite. Favorites not to be missed are the mushroom omelet, apple pancake, dutch baby pancake, and continental crepes! The atmosphere is crowded and noisy, but the decor is charming and homey. Be prepared to wait up to 1 hour for a table on the weekends. I always go early and get a number before my family arrives in order to shorten our wait. It can be very difficult to seat large parties, small groups work best. Or go after the breakfast crowd when it is quieter and easier to be seated. They are open from 7-3pm Wednesday through Sunday.
