The Cat Hospital of Tidewater was founded in 1989 by Cynthia Bocian DVM, the first Cats Only animal hospital in the Tidewater area. It was first located in the Dixie Square Shopping Center. In 1995 the Cat Hospital moved to its current location, at the corner of Virginia Beach Blvd. and Poplar Hall Drive. We are just down the street from Military Circle Mall and Janaf Shopping Center. We have a hard-working staff that assists the veterinarian-in-charge, Dr. Cynthia Bocian, along with several house cats that make the Cat Hospital their home.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAT HERE!!!

The Cat Hospital of Tidewater may have the appearance of a loving, nuturing, caring facility for cuddly cats, but BEWARE: this clinic is nothing more than a money scamming litter box. Upon entering, you are eerily greeted with the smell of cat urine - it hits you immediately. Then there is the 1970's decor, including the fading ceiling tiles covered in moisture stains. After a long wait, (of course you made an appointment - but that doesn't matter) - you will be whisked away into a small unventilated room approximately 45 minutes later, which they will claim is because they want to give "every cat the proper care and treatment" - it's all so the Vet can plot a scam on your wallet with her devious staff- Once in 1 of the 2 "exam" rooms - you can't help but notice the smell of cat urine and stains. When the Vet does finally show - just wait until you read the laundry list of items she has waiting for you and your cuddly one - all considered "routine." And forget discussing your concerns - the Vet has her ideas already planned for your kitty - just wait until check out - additional "routine" items have been added to your bill that you never discussed. Don't try discussing things with her at this point either - she'll try to convince herself that you all discussed everything during the "exam." - just watch her in action with unsuspecting patrons in the waiting room. Most patrons are senior citizens - I watched as she changed her "diagnosis" three times on a poor unsuspecting older gentleman. You'd think with all the money they are scamming from people they could at least clean the place up - perhaps pick up a couple of bottles of Nature's Miracle. You are better off taking your kitty to Banfield at Pet Smart. Don't waste your time or hard earned dollar here and certainly don't put your furry friends at risk! Shame on you Cat Hospital of Tidewater...Shame!
