About Team Canine
Team Canine was founded by Brad & Jade Jaffe in 1999. Unhappy with the attitude of master/servant training styles based in intimidation and forceful methods, we ventured out on a mission to find another way. Since then we have studied the pioneers of non-violent training and the fathers of modern day psychology. But most of all we have learned from the greatest teachers of dog behavior that will ever walk this earth; dogs. The thousands of dogs that have been such patient teachers to us have been the greatest contributors to how we train. We have been fortunate enough to have been able to educate thousands of dogs and their families through television, radio, newspaper columns, in classes and in private in-home lessons and through our training DVD and Brad’s first book Conversations With Courtney.

Our goal is to educate the millions of people that are searching for a gentle, compassionate, common sense approach to training their dogs. We want to live our lives doing what we love and to make a difference in as many hearts and minds (human and dog) as possible. The more people we can educate, the more dogs will be spared from abuse, neglect, harsh training methods and unnecessary euthanization.

Dog behavior experts for Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Maricopa County Animal Safe Hospice (MASH Unit) working with inmates to care for and rehabilitate severely abused and neglected dogs. Brad and Jade were nationally certified as Pet Dog Trainers in 2002 by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

Training
Do you believe your dog could train himself to do whatever it is you are asking of him? Our dogs are constantly looking at us and our reactions and responses, and then adjusting their behavior to get what they want. We teach you how to understand and communicate to your dogs in a way that makes sense to them. There is no need to resort to using physical corrections, choke or pinch collars and especially shock collars (sometimes called remote collars). There is no need to “alpha rollover” or humiliate a dog to earn their respect. Our beloved dogs learn through trial and error; remember they don’t speak English (or Spanish, French, etc.). Whether it’s potty training, basic manners and obedience, or severe behavior problems like aggression, it’s our job to help teach them what it is we want from them. With a little bit of patience and the knowledge of how to communicate with your dog in the right way they will literally train themselves. Categories:   Pet Training
