When I rented the BobCat Skid Steer from Taylor Rental of Hillsdale, NJ there was no mention of their double billing policy regarding larger equipment with hours meters on them. I was only aware that I was renting the machine at $220 a day with $100 pickup and return fee and would be charged for any gas used plus a small insurance fee- fair enough. I was then sent a bill for nearly $700 once the got their machine back. The reason they gave me was that I used the machine for 16.1 hours which counts as 2 days, 2 days insurance, etc. The last time I checked days were 24 hours long and within those 24 hours me working a 16 hour shift is a pretty common occurance. In my subsequent correspondance with Taylor I was called "disingenuous" via email and the employee that originally gave me a $360 price quote (total) left me a voicemail full of attitude and a "that's our unspoken, unprinted, unmentioned policy- too bad if you don't agree with it" approach to customer service. I would not only avoid recommending them to other users but it is my intention to let as many people as possible know of my horrific experience with Taylor Rental Center of Hillsdale, NJ.
