Hoover Dam

I bought tickets for the Hoover Dam tour through Groupon. This was my first purchase with Groupon. It was GreatI was picked up on time at my Las Vegas Hotel by a shuttle bus. It was easy to figure out why they were using a shuttle to make multiple pick ups in these small hotel parking areas. A quick ride and we were transferred to Big bus to Hoover dam. The ride was narrated by Bud the driver wile we drove to Hoover Dam. He was informative about the growth of Las Vegas since the 1980's and what is being done by Clark County to continue to improve the city for the tourist. Our first stop was at the "new" bridge that was installed for trucks after 911. We exited the bus for a quick 20 minute stop. We climbed the stairs and had our first view of the amazing Dam. Wow. We returned to the bus and enjoyed a bottle of water that was complimentary on the bus. Hoover Dam was a short ride up the 2 lane road. We arrived at the Dam where Bud went and picked up the tickets for the Generator tour inside of Hoover Dam. Words can not describe what we saw for the next 2 hours. An engineering wonder that would be impossible to duplicate today. The Hoover Dam Tour was Great but so was Bud our driver. He enhanced the trip with his narrative facts and great sense of humor. Thanks to SWEETOURS and Bud for making our tour in Las Vegas one that we will never forget.A must tour to do in Vegas.. Tom Carr Raleigh, North Carolina

I have taken many tours in Las Vegas and can say this is THE best value for a Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon tour. I would recommend the South Rim over the West even though it is a longer day the views are much better. Clean new buses and very friendly drivers made the trip perfect for our family, SweeTours was very fun, I would give it a big thumbs up for all visitors here.

Worst Tour Ever

I took the tour to the Grand Canyon on my recent trip to las vegas. I was picked up in the hotel tour lobby after being called by the driver to see if I was still going because he did not come into the lobby to announce he was there. I didn't even know what company I was going with as I had an explorer pass. After being picked up I was shuttled to the Luxor to catch my tour bus. I go on the bus and was fed muffins and juice for breakfast. Not too bad but, there was no trash bag to throw the trash away in. The tour bus driver was telling everyone on the bus that he was a supervisor and an employee called off because their daughter was having a child and they wanted to be there for them. The supervisor was being a jerk and told them to get to work and there will be another time in the future. I didn't think that was funny.

We departed towards the grand canyon and the driver was making jokes and such that he thought was funny. I didn't hear too many other passengers laughing with him. He never really shut up so people could actually look out the windows or anything. That microphone must have been permentaly on bass because it was almost reverbing through the speakers. Alot of misinformation on tings from the driver because you couldn't figure out what was real and what was fake. We wer given lunch from a small sandwhich shop where we had sandwhiches in a brown paper bag. We passed several fast food places on the way to the sandwhich shop. We ate on the bus and did not have anoter stop until the grand canyon.

The grand canyon was beutiful but the trip there was almost unbearable. The driver used Vegas time instead of telling everyone what time to meet at the bus for depature in Mountain Time. An elderly couple was happy to see someone sle from the tour because they thought the bus had left already. They had called the tour company to find out and the driver was a bit ticked off because the company called him to find out if he had left. He said he was going to find out who called. I don't know what he meant by that.

Once back on the road we stopped for snacks at a gas station before hitting the high way. After that we didn't stop agin for 2 to 3 hours. Once we got back into Vegas the driver stopped at the first hotel to drop off and said that the hotels he was calling out were to leave the bus and get on another bus that was helping him out so he could get home. There were a few of us left on his bus that was heading down the strip to drop us off. The drop offs were made on the strip in front of the hotels. I was dropped off south of my hotel on the opposite side of the road because he didn't want to go down that side of the strip.

I was never so happy to be off that tour. I will not and would not reccomend this company to anybody else. There are better tour companies out there that do a better job. I will never take a tour from Sweetours agin.

DRIVER RUINED THE TRIP

We went to the Grand Canyon using this company only because we had an explorer Pass and this was the one they used. It started out when the pickup driver called my cell phone and told us that he was waiting outside, instead of coming in and seeing who out of the 20-25 people that was waiting for a tour waiting in the same area was going with this company.

We got to the drop off point and it was not a building but at the rear of the Luxor. When we finally got on board the driver started in on how he was a supervisor and had not done a tour in a long time and how the regular driver was off with her daughter who had just had a baby, and how he really didn't care she should be at work.

They gave us a breakfast of juice and muffins, but didn't have a trash bag to put the waste in, after what seemed like several hours of this driver telling what he thought was jokes and the people on the bus giving polite laughter at, we got to the Grand Canyon, instead of using mountain time that the GC is on the kept telling everyone that we was going to use las Vegas time which was an hour later. That would have been fine but we had several eldery people on the trip and one couple saw us was so happy they thought that they had missed the bus back. They said that they had called the tour co. to ask if they had, and the driver made the comment that he knew that someone had called and he would find out.

The driver is suppose to be the expert and he would tell us something then laugh and say I had you believing me this is what you really need to do. I was so happy to get off the bus that night I almost kissed the ground where he dropped us off on the strip across the street and up from our hotel.
