He was very proactive with the prosecutor and court to make sure that they received all of the required documentation prior to sentencing to show my excellent character. As blue and white collar workers we were living the American dream until one of my uncles was stopped for driving too slow (as he made his way home from a church function). Because of a prior felony from 1992, for which he served time, my uncle had his residency taken away and was deported. He illegally entered the country over 10 years ago and had been working and paying his taxes while supporting his family ever since. The traffic officer determined my uncle was here illegally. The illegal entry, which was aggravated by the prior felony, would lead to a possible sentence of at least 63-78 months in federal prison. Because of his due diligence, knowledge and experience in criminal law, he managed to get my charges reduced to a class 6 felony disorderly conduct instead of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Because of his efforts I did not have to serve any prison or jail time. Instead, I only received probation and was released from probation after 1 yr. I was elated and so was my son.I was also very impressed with the compassionate way that I was treated, Richard understands that no one is perfect we all can make mistakes.He has a strong relationship with the prosecutors office having worked there and I feel that this also made a difference in the outcome.I cannot say enough about how wonderful the firm is.
