I have never even talked to Sandy and she is clueless about her dad's case. He is charged with 5 counts of raping his granddaughter. I was not paid a retainer, but a small fee to handle his warrant--this is an involved process that involves getting psychosexual reports done to determine if the person is a danger to the community. The officer promised me my client would not be picked up on his warrant. But the PROSECUTOR overrode the officer & ordered client's arrest--officer felt bad he promised me not to pick him up, but he was ordered to. I busted my butt to try to get him out--Pretrial Services did a FAVOR FOR ME & interviewed client in front of 10 other people. Another favor--recommended release! Prosecutor objected to release and judge agreed because SANDY, person writing this review, and her sister said dad raped them both when they were growing up. Don't blame me because your dad wasn't released--YOU are at fault. I did get dad's bail significantly reduced. I stayed up until 2:00 a.m. to prepare property bond (a lot of paperwork) for dad's release--he would be released for FREE with this bond. I allowed your mother to come to my HOUSE so I could work on your dad's release that night. I spoke to your mother AT LEAST 5 times a day and your dad called me from jail @ $5 per minute on my nickel. Your dad would have been in jail for 3 WEEKS instead of 1 if I didn't bust my butt to get reports done in 2 days & plead with judge to get him on court calendar within 12 hours of report being completed. As for a plea deal, he hadn't hired me to handle the case, just his preindictment proceedings. A plea deal within 2 days of being arrested--it doesn't work that way. You want me to have your dad plead to something without thoroughly reviewing the police reports & have my private investigator interview witnesses? As for charging $20,000--dad is looking at 25-to-life on each count. What is his life worth to him? Can't do good job for less--crappy lawyer may.
