Sun Valley Church

We are a relatively young church. Our first Sunday was March 16th, 2003. Our mother church is West Side Baptist Church of Yakima, Washington. In 2000 the elders of West Side Baptist decided it would be important for West Side to reach out and be kingdom oriented in the greater Yakima area. We are a relatively young church. Our first Sunday was March 16th, 2003. Our mother church is West Side Baptist Church of Yakima, Washington. In 2000 the elders of West Side Baptist decided it would be important for West Side to reach out and be kingdom oriented in the greater Yakima area. It was at that time that they began to research the possibility of planting a daughter church in this region. East Valley was the chosen site for the church plant.

In 2001 the idea of planting a daughter church was presented to West Side Baptist Church congregation and they were asked to pray for the idea and to consider whether they should participate and go with the daughter church dream. In September of 2002 a small group of committed people started to gather on a monthly basis to hold separate services in the West Side Youth Center (Oasis) in preparation for starting in the spring of 2003.

Sun Valley Church started with around 75 adults and has grown to over 200 in total attendance on any given Sunday. God has continually been faithful and given direction for everything we do. Categories:   Christianity
