Mr. Henry has a solo practice in Greenville, SC, and serves clients in the Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson areas. His main cases involve criminal and juvenile defense, employment law for employees and civil rights cases involving police misconduct, unlawful arrest and the use of excessive force. He also handles domestic cases, cases involving the rights of students and other personal injury matters. In 1977 Mr. Henry graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School and, after passing the bar exam that fall, became an assistant public defender in Greenville, South Carolina where he has lived and worked ever since. While at the public defender office, Mr. Henry became the deputy public defender representing juvenile and adult defendants in cases ranging from minor magistrate offenses to death penalty murder trials. In 1981, Mr. Henry went into private practice. During that year he helped form the Carolina Alliance for Fair Employment (CAFÉ), a non-profit organization that helps workers learn about their job rights. CAFÉ has chapters throughout the state and has its headquarters in Hartsville, South Carolina. In addition to his practice, Mr. Henry founded Law in Action in 2002 which provides free lawyers for poor parents whose kids faced expulsion from school and to help magistrate court detainees obtain a timely and fair release from jail. Law in Action also provides workshops for non-lawyers and offers a mock trial program for young prosecutors and defense attorneys. These programs are open to the public and high school students with an interest in a legal career and are encouraged to attend. Although Mr. Henry has won a number of awards over the years, he is perhaps most proud of being awarded the Tommy Thomason Award by the Greenville County Bar Association in 2004.

Sadly Mr Henry didn't take my discrimination case, he advised me of what to do though. I really think a lot of him for helping me out with advice. He is a credit to the law profession.

If I could give this less than one star I would. This man took $250 each from me, my husband and my mother for a case to be pursued against a local government agency back in 2008 for a violation of civil rights. After that time we received no calls and no correspondence from him. He simply kept our money and did absolutely nothing. Finally in 2011 the employee who mistreated us was fired for sexual harassment of a female employee by a state agency. If you have a problem and need help I implore you to never go to this man. He will take your money and promise you justice as he did us and you will never hear from him again. This man is a crook and attorneys like him are the reason that most people hate the legal system and attorneys in general. STAY AWAY!! Caution!!!!
