Customer at fault !

I had a new system installed 2 yrs. ago, and it stopped working ! No cool on a very hot day. When I call about the bill for service, the manager tried to blame me for the defective component on a system that was nearly brand new.I will not be using this company again.

Standard installed a new system in '09. Less than three years later the AC is not working and when I had an appointment to get it serviced they informed me that they have updated their "safety policies" and would not perform maintenance to the system THEY installed without a lift that would cost me $300 a day. This is after they were scheduled to be here from 10-2 and no one bothered to tell me they would not work on the system until I called at 3.

Standard was called out for an AC not working and to also perform the Spring inspection as part of their $250.00 Residential Maintenance Agreement. I informed the Serviceman that the AC wouldn't start, ande that the start capacitor was probably defective. He replaced the capacitor (a 5 minute job) and then completed the equipment inspection and checks. I was then billed $135 for the capacitor and labor of replacing it. After I complained, he contacted the office and then told me that the capacitor was, in fact, under warranty, so the bill would be only $61.00 for the labor (5 minutes) of replacing it. The fact that he had to remove the electrical cover anyway to provide the covered maintenance agreement didn't have any bearing on the charges.To me, that is pure and simple "double-billing", and I now choose to go elsewhere for my HVAC needs.

The installers were courteous and informative from the moment they walked in the door to the moment that they finished up and left my home. I appreciate the honesty and integrity that these men had. It's good to see that there are people out there that enjoy their job these days. I will be a life long customer! Thanks!!

Their service is overall good, however, their pricing is out of control. My entire system was under warranty, which was great, however, the labor costs are outrageous! They charge over $100.00 per hour in labor and I have to say, their techs don't work that fast and take phone calls in the process at the homeowners cost. I wouldn't recommend these guys based on the fact that their labor costs are where they gouge you. The part (covered under warranty) was $198.00 and the labor was over $430.00 for 3 hours worth of work. When I contacted management, their excuses were all based around how great their guys are trained and the fact that they stock parts in-house and have a lot of overhead that they have to pass on to the customer...what's interesting is the part they ordered for my system had to be tracked down by a local supplier..it was clearly not in the warehouse at Standard Heating & Airconditioning..which I called out the manager on, stating that the technician told me whe
