Warm and Welcoming

I have been a parishner of St Viator for many years, my son attended school there and now that he has gone off to college, I found St Francis to be closer to home. I have attended the last 2 Sunday services and am excited to say it was very, very warm and welcoming. I loved attending St Viator, but I think I have found a new home.
Not a FRIENDLY parish!
by Olivia , 01/29/2012
I have made TWO attempts to make this my "home" parish since they have been established and I have, sadly, found that the parishioners are cold, rude, and lack Christian exuberance in their faith. Hardly any of the people sing the songs, they refuse to join hands with each other during the Lord's Prayer, they don't simply say "excuse me" when they want to get by . . . instead they give rude "hand gestures" that imply they are DEMANDING that you get out of their way. I'm not saying they are all this way, but I have ever experience such negative encounters at one parish in my entire life!!! I will keep going and "hope" that I FINALLY make some friends with a few people that have the joy of our Lord in their hearts. This is a very difficult parish to acclimate to!

I have traveled the world and found the Mass here to be calming, warm, inviting, and the people were very welcoming. It is a place I will visit often.Thank you.
