I brought in a 5 hp mercury trolling motor for some minor throttle adjustment work. 2 weeks later I picked up the motor and was charged for 1 hr. service on the carburetor. (They had to charge me for something so I would think they did something.) I used the motor on the weekend and the throttle was set at high idle. I have a 24' pontoon boat and I actually had to drag 3 5 gal buckets to slow me down. I complained and was told to bring it back for warranty work and they would get me right in. I took it in on Monday and by Thursday they hadn't done a thing. The mechanic said they it would void the warranty if he set the throttle any slower. Give me a brake, it's a 16 year old motor, what warranty exists? I went in and picked it up and made a throttle adjustment myself and it ran perfectly. No buckets dragging or drift sock. I would not return for service from them again. The one mechanic (at least the one who worked on my motor) is unqualified to work as a mechanic in my opinion. There was nothing done the first time except set the throttle so high it sounded like it was ready to explode, and the second time nothing. Poor service to say the least.
